Summary

Science Learning Resources seeks to improve the learning process and raise student enthusiasm for biological sciences by building Web-based lab instruments that function virtually the same on-line as they do in actual labs. Placing lab instruments on-line enhances distance learning initiatives and supports the teacher’s need to leverage new technologies in curriculum development and lecture delivery.

SLR products are designed to simulate laboratory environments that maintain the fidelity of operating actual laboratory equipment and to replicate experimental lab experiences on-line. Our current product, the Virtual Microscope Explorer, is an example of this vision.

Science Learning Resources consists of scientific, technical and business professionals dedicated to the improvement of science education. A focus of the company is to leverage new Web technologies to promote life science literacy, lower delivery costs of educational content, and bring world-class laboratory experience to students. Watch a student use our Virtual Microscope Explore and you know you are seeing progress!

Explorer Microscope Teaching System

The Explorer system brings new opportunities to distance learning professionals seeking quality products to assist with biological science curriculum. Virtual tools are needed to supplement textbook learning in a variety of subjects: forensics, basic biology, anatomy, and botany are all subjects that leverage the microscope as a learning tool. By having a 3D microscope available on-line, students are acquiring many of the skills and knowledge made available in actual physical lab.
